Chapter Information
Students in the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences established the AAPS-University of Houston (UH) Student Chapter in November 2004. Specific chapter objectives include:
- Expand the chapter member base by communicating its
significance to students from the bioengineering and basic
sciences departments.
- Establish the chapter as the basis of interaction between
students and pharmaceutical scientists from academia,
government and industry, to help students gain insight into
these fields and realize their career objectives.
- Make the members aware of the latest developments in the
pharmaceutical sciences by inviting speakers and organizing
symposia/meetings.
- Organize mock interview sessions with the UH Career
Development Center and post job openings and internship
opportunities available to students.
- Increase the participation of students at national meetings
and local meetings, such as the Southern Regional Discussion
Group, and be a host of future events.
- Organize social gatherings for UH students and faculty so
the chapter serves as a professional and educational
experience, as well as a platform for social interaction.
