The PDD and PT Sections are disbanded as of June 30, 2008 and three new sections were created: the Formulation Design & Development (FDD) Section, the Manufacturing Science & Engineering (MSE) Section, and the Physical Pharmacy & Biopharmaceutics (PPB) Section. Visit https://secure.aapspharmaceutica.com/Signup.aspx and complete the information to update your section affiliations. You may affiliate with two sections for free and any additional sections may be added for a $5 fee for each section per year.
Travelships are being offered for the three new sections and if you submitted a poster to PDD or PT, it will be applicable to all three of the new sections.

Eligibility Requirements
Recipients will be selected from all applicants that meet the following eligibility requirements.
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student.
- First author of an accepted abstract.
- A member of AAPS since January 2008 or earlier, with membership in the section to which you are applying.
(Note: Please make certain that your section is correctly identified in the AAPS database by contacting AAPS Membership at 1-877-998-2277.)
Only one abstract submission per section member will be considered for this award. The accepted abstract must be submitted with title, authors, and text, together with a complete online Travelship application form.
PPDM Section Eligibility Requirements
In addition to the general requirements listed above, the following apply:
- Multiple abstracts from one laboratory may be submitted, but only one award will be given to an individual laboratory.
- No more than two awards will be given to a single institution.
RS Section Eligibility Requirements
In addition to the general requirements listed above, the following apply:
- Preference will be given to students enrolled in RA/QA programs.

The deadline for all submissions is September 5, 2008. Applicants whose submitted papers are not accepted by the Paper Screening Committee will be removed from the eligible pool before the award selections are made.
Note: The reimbursement will be issued to the winning individuals following the Annual Meeting upon receipt of documented meeting expenses (e.g., copy of airline ticket, hotel receipt, meal estimates, etc.).

MRFG Travelship Application Form
Application Deadline: September 29, 2008
The Modified Release Focus Group (MRFG) is pleased to offer two travelships for $750 to eligible individuals presenting papers at the AAPS 2008 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia, November 16-20, sponsored by Schering-Plough.
Recipients will be selected from all applicants that meet the following eligibility requirements.
- Currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student
- Primary author/main contributor with justification of an accepted abstract
- Recipient must be present at the MRFG business meeting to receive the award. (Otherwise, award will go to the next finalist).
- To support more students to present at the AAPS meetings, MRFG Travelship Award is a one time award, previous winners will be excluded from selection process
- The applicant must be a member of AAPS since January 2008 or earlier, with membership in the MRFG at the time of application.
MRFG Travelship Award Selection Criteria
In addition to the general requirements listed above, the following apply:
- Primary Selection criteria – need to be above average work. Application/request needs a detailed explanation of the impact of the presented work to the field of Modified/Controlled/Prescriptive Release.
- The abstract /presentation must be submitted with title, authors, and text, together with a complete online Travelship application form including supporting document by advisor.
- MRFG Award sub-committee will perform the selection by the following:
- Pre-screen applications together with applicant’s abstract already accepted by the AAPS screening committees
- Make final selections from full poster presentations by applicants on the short list
- Only one abstract/presentation submission per applicant will be considered for this award.
- Multiple abstracts from one University/School may be submitted, but only one award will be given to an individual Institution each year.
- No more than one award will be given to a single Research Group and/or advisor in the same year.

Five travelships are available at $500 for graduate/undergraduate students.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be currently enrolled as a full-time student.
- Have a paper accepted by one of the nine AAPS sections for presentation at the 2008 annual meeting which the student will be presenting.
- Have been a member of AAPS since at least January 2008.
- Have no other means of supplemental support to attend the meeting.
- Be traveling more than 200 miles (one way from his/her academic institution to attend the meeting).
Applicants whose submitted papers are not accepted by the Paper Screening Committee will be removed from the eligible pool before the award selections are made.
Applicants are only allowed to accept one travelship to the annual meeting.

- Have a paper accepted by one of the eight AAPS sections for presentation at the 2008 annual meeting which the student will be presenting.
